Photographing a wedding for another wedding photographer is pretty nerve wracking, luckily pro photographer Vicky is super lovely and just let me get on with it (my favourite kind of client!). Vicky and Gary were married at the beautiful Alnwick Garden in Northumberland. Vicky looked amazing in her 50’s lace dress and beaded mary-jane shoes, perfectly complimented by bridesmaid Beth’s mint green lace dress.
The Alnwick Gardens is a lovely venue that has been top of my wish-list to shoot at for a while, so I was thrilled to be there on a sunny day in back October. The pavilion room is a massive space with glass ceiling and walls overlooking the stunning Grand Cascade fountains. Although also open to the public, the couple and their guests had the place to themselves in the evening when the fountains are spectacularly lit up, perfect for a romantic stroll after the wedding breakfast.
I love the outdoor garden theme the couple chose to match the venue, from the herb pot table plan, the cake covered in edible flowers (patiently made by Vicky’s mum) and the inscribed wooden place settings (again by the extremely talented mother of the bride!) which doubled as favours. The whole day had such a relaxed and happy vibe it was such a pleasure to photograph and I left feeling like I had been there as a guest!
