The Best of 2017

2017 has been my busiest year yet with more weddings than ever! I have been back to old favourite venues such as Newton Hall, Matfen Hall, Beamish Hall Hotel and Crook Hall and Gardens as well as some exciting new places for me; the beautiful Hexham Winter Gardens (more weddings here please!), Eshott Hall and The South Causey Inn. I also have become a recommended supplier to Doxford Barns and will be back there several times over the next year.

There have been so many lovely weddings and so much love and happiness, going through all the photos from the year to pick my favourites is so hard and it reminds me of how lucky I am to work with such amazing couples and be a part of the happiest days of their lives.

On a personal front, this year has been wonderful as I have been blessed with a new addition to my family. Baby Penny arrived safely this December and I would like to thank all of the couples whose weddings I attended with a baby bump for not being put off by the idea of a pregnant photographer, you are all wonderfully kind and considerate.

So happy New Year to you all, I can’t wait to be back celebrating love in spring 2018! Here are my favourite photos from 2017 I hope that you enjoy them as much as I have.

Lumley Castle Wedding – Grant & Katie

I am very happy to be sharing the wedding of Grant and Katie at Lumley castle from back in September 2016. It was my first time photographing at Lumley and what an amazing venue! The couple used Grant’s Scottish roots to great effect with a piper at the Church and a brilliant ceilidh that kept the guests dancing well into the night!

Katie looked absolutely stunning in her lace dress, and the happiness of the couple and their families was so apparent throughout the day it was a joy to be a part of. Here is a selection of my favourite images from the day.

The Best of 2016

This year has been incredible for me, both in my personal life and on the business front (hello Regional Finalist for Wedding Photographer in the North East!). There have been so many lovely people marrying the love of their lives. I have been to rustic barn weddings and stately homes, majestic churches and garden ceremonies, but each day has been special and I have been so lucky to have played a small part in each.

A few venues have been ticked off my wish list this year including Doxford Barns (where I am now very proud to be a recommended supplier!), Beamish Hall Hotel, Crook Hall and Gardens and Doxford Hall, as well as returning to old favourites like Matfen Hall Hotel and Horton Grange.

It has been so hard to choose my favourite images from the whole year, which is why there is rather a lot! So put the kettle on, settle in and enjoy!

The Manor House Wedding – Kathryn & David

It is always so lovely to photograph a wedding for friends, especially when those friends are super laid back and are happy for you to do your own thing! Kathryn and David has the most wonderfully laid back and beautiful wedding day at The Manor House Hotel in West Aukland. There were so many beautiful personal touches to this day, such as the hand painted wooden signs, David’s monogrammed cufflinks, the custom family lego cake topper and the pastel pink roses by Victoria at Mrs Blooms. I also love that the couple did away with the traditional cake cutting and cut their cake straight after the ceremony so that the guests could eat it during the drinks reception!

Kathryn looked absolutely stunning in her beaded lace dress which was altered by Pressed Prom and Bridal who even arrived in the morning to do some final fittings and lace up the back to make sure Kathryn was picture perfect, what amazing service!  The boys also looked super smart in navy suits with gold ties and the couple two sons were brilliant as co-best man and a page boy, and kept me on my toes chasing around after them in the gardens!

Here is a selection of my favourite shots from the day, I hope you enjoy them.
