When I first met Emma and John I knew their wedding day would be a very relaxed and fun affair, and it didn’t disappoint! The couple held their wedding at the fabulous Jersey Farm Hotel in the Teesdale countryside just outside Barnard Castle. A gorgeous spot with amazing views and so much lovely greenery, it is a delight to photograph a wedding there.
I started the day at the couple’s home where ‘bridal prep’ was fully underway, I love daughter Imogen’s beehive hair-do, equally impressive was how long it stayed in place! When I popped upstairs to do a few shots of Emma’s gown, shoes and accessories, I got major dress-envy! Her 50’s style blush pink lace dress with long sheer sleeves and buttons down the back was so gorgeous, it made me want to get married all over again myself!
After a lovely ceremony with speeches from the couple’s children (and the registrar getting the groom’s name wrong-whoops!), it was out into the garden for drinks and some photos. After the meal all the guests headed out to ‘Olive’ the VW camper van, that was not only the bride’s transportation but doubled up as a retro sweet shop. Thank you to the lovely Graham and Rachel from Sweet Campers for the all the free samples!
So thank you Emma and John for having an awesome wedding day and letting me photograph it, here are the best bits…
